I had an awesome start to year. Trekking and road tripping in Japan's Kansai area and a few day trip to Tokyo. Finally we had the chance to face Mount Fuji up close with a partial clear sky. Yay! It was gigantic and beautiful. I might climb it someday in summer. lol. I have kept list of where I have been through FourSquare whom then post to both my Facebook and Twitter. Simpler.

Back on earth, the weather causing havoc all over the nation but poor Queensland takes the cake. Cutting off utilities and roads. Destroying business and homes. All the while killing people. It is one bloody bath of a summer. Queensland is flooded to its building roof tops.

It is official. I have come home to crap family members. Not only do they bitch all day long about petty problems, they fail to analyse anything, let alone pay for repairs. One fail to save up money for an iPad, another fail to save up for a Netbook, and another fakes his fear of flying to visit his relatives (whom he has seen 6 times previously). Totally nuts!

I think, I'm at that stage of life, where soon I will be caring for my folks in their old age. For some people their parents are well off to get hired help. I ain't that fortunate. Yes. Petty things still pisses me off. I have always come across current students and ex-teachers whom themselves are failed editors in reality are trying undermine the topic at hand by pointing out my grammar error, be it in Chinese or English. Oddly, I am anticipating correction in Japanese. Which my current language focus. I rather have spoken and lived, than to die with regrets of not speaking my mind. This year is 2011 and not the 1800s. To curb people thoughts is take them to court. Is that how Facebook friends going to be like from now? Ahh. So out of touch with unconditional friendship. It seems people from Facebook are Grammar Nazi patrons. Deletion is imminent. If you must know, I do prefer company of people who accept typo, iPhone bad autocorrection, and non-native born overseas Asian attempting to be bi-lingual in written and spoken communication. Life is fun when you try things out. Okey Dokey?

We took 3 Shinkansen rides to and from Tokyo. 10 Shinkansen rides around Kansai and Chūgoku region. 1 JR Ferry to and from Miyajima Island. 1 JR Highway Express Bus to and from Gotemba. Woot!

Grammar saga. Part 1.

In language, pinyin & romaji are there for assistance or a guide, need not be perfect. In history, many people have written their own pinyin, while learning another language. Therefore is no right or wrong way to self education. In social media we are too quick to judge people status updates or post. We need to consider if it was written during an event or emotional situation. Such as people are rushed or upset during an event, so they might had misspelt. Still you should NOT condemned them, even if they are your friends.

Grammar saga. Part 2.

I'm lucky to be alive. The world is battling bigger concerns than spelling and grammar problems. Why do people belittle their friends on social media platforms? I do not understand. For joking purposes? At who's expense? These these horrible attitude, these aggravating post, these consending replies, these degrading friendship, these ABUSE must end with "unfriend" button. Go find your fun else where, upper_c't.

Many people can't teach for shits. Where is restraining order and strap for people who are clearly crap at controling their communication skills. Wanna correct someone on something? Then choose the right place and time and medium, such as the email, not the comment section online. Unless it is open forum.

At the very least have the decency to explain what you are doing and for what reason. Do not ask people to say "SORRY" for their typo or emotional writing, when it was not personally geared towards you. You are exerting your superiority over others. Which is quite rude. Even for a language teacher, let alone a single bachelor who think his bilingual superior than minorities with dialects. Well may you burn in hell NOW.
