Sunny start to the day at least. At Osaka we caught the Kansai Airport rapid train line, however, at Hineo station this train will be uncoupling into two separate trains. The carriages 1-4 headed to Kansai Airport and carriages 5-8 to Wakayama. Interesting.
Stop at Bentencho 弁天町 to change to Osaka Port by subway.
Stop at Shin Imamiya 新今宮 to change to Nanba.
Sis has the coughs and sore throat. Yet she doesn't want to visit the pharmacy for medicine.
Tried going to Kimiidera however all trains point to different areas. Gobo line was rare. We took the risk by hopping on Takada line instead only to find it is the wrong local train. Local trains have a limited run like Hokkaido local trains, as in they shut after 5pm.
Change of plan and headed over to Wakayama machi area which is closest to Wakayama castle.
Wakayama castle. Medium but perched high on a mountain with steep large slabs of rock stairs. Quite the walk. Felt like a hiking path. Inside is displays of samurai outfits, weapons, paintings, tools, and scrolls. Many cats. Fat and heavy cats. We tried pettying them all. lol.
Lunch time spent in Takashimaya curry bar. The store seem tailored to elder patrons judging by the clothes available and artitis [spelling] aid kits.
Est & Hep 5 @Osaka
Sale was so so. Not mad sale with major discount like Oz boxing day. A few security guards. Lots of people everywhere. Guys left standing in corners waiting their girlfriends. I have scored myself ¥7,245 mid length cargo wool lining jacket and ¥1,900 giant circle neck scarf. Woot!
However, Tennoji's Station Plaza Mio bargain sale had stores selling cheaper items than EST. While Kobe had cheaper shoes.
Restaurants in Est, Hep 5, Umeda, Daimaru, Yodabashi dining hall, New Osaka Hotel all closed at 8pm. Therefore beware which city you go to and check before hand where are the 24/7 eatery places.
World World Buffet in Hilton Plaza West is open till 11pm. Yay!
