Sitting in the waiting area of Shin Osaka station. Nice comfy grey couches plus four digital tv to entertain us. From the looks of the weather forecast we will be leaving before it starts to snow in Osaka. Lucky us.
Shinkansen to Kyoto. Snowing in Kyoto and Uji. Two degrees. Where's my snow ski jacket and gloves when I need them? Giggles. Took the rapid train to Uji and skipped the station because I fell asleep and did Sis. Ha ha.
Unexpected snow fall of 10cm and cold winds. Too cold for long walks in Uji.
Est and Hep 5 (Closed today for stock taking). We were not able to buy wool tops. On the 31st of December at 3pm everyone rushes away from Osaka to go home with suitcases. Trying our luck in Kyoto's "3 Coin" in Porta underground mall did not gloves or capes.
At 5:09pm stuck on Higashoji dori (street) in Raku bus number 100 to Kiyomizudera and Gion. Snacking on green tea biscuits we purchased earlier today from Uji.
Sis dashed off on slushie snow grounds to buy a hair clip with hand made Sakura flowers in brown. Shops everywhere closed at 6pm. We wasted two hours in Kyoto over a bloody STUPID hair clip.
We tried to wait for bus number 5 to Kyoto station but it was slow and this elder Indian man and son kept asking personal questions which creeped everyone out. We madly dashed off to the Shijo subway station and took Kinetsu line.
I wonder who is around to celebrate New Year Eve in Osaka then?
Apparently once you buy a ticket to these observatory towers you cannot roam back to the gift store. However, Sis decided to go against the tide. Ugh. Talk about Annoying.
10pm. New Year's eve at Umeda sky flower building. You get a bon bon with your ticket. Sis had a her name etched onto a heart strap. lol.
There was live musical act to entertain us, picture stands (1 plants, 1 white bow heart on the inside, 1 lights up heart on the outside), and the observation deck. The observation deck has glow in the dark spots on the floor. Also has small led lights flashing different colours. No fire works.
Once all has ended, we were diverted by crowd control patrol staff to take a different route to JR Osaka station. Very industrial and the entrance was more suited to trucks dropping off goods than an individual go strolling around. Odd but an eye opening experience.
