April 2018

Swamped with ideas for the restructure. Sadly, only a few staff are willing to provide details about their frustration with the current organisation chart. Many of the staff feared that they maybe fired for speaking up, especially to me, a library technician. I am not even in management position. However, I wish to create a new organisation chart that is an inclusive one, but how can I? when people refuse to give input. Sigh.

My unemployed sister feels that she has the right to berate me, when I am the individual who actually has a job to pay bills and pay for house repairs. She accused me of wasting electricity by coming home EARLY!!! All the while she is constantly home, hoping on two mobile devices, in front of a television, and has the heater turned ON. This is by the far the most ridiculous half day off I have ever experienced.

March 2018

ahhh... Papa is trying to make me shoulder his financial woes. Nah ah. I will not submit to such shameful acts. A parent should be financially well prepared before hitting old age. My salary should not be expected to finance a whole family of unemployed adults. But the fact they try to control how I live and spend my money makes me want to murder, they do not financial literacy. Whereas I have being attending work shops by ASX and women wealth meet up groups.

Can you believe it my family has been paying cash for medical treatment in full for many years? I have found by having private health insurance, they will pay up for most of it, and I just have to pay the remainder. My dental check up costs $300, but I just have to pay $180. Same goes for my chiropractor appointment, costs $80, and private health insurance, I just have to pay $34. Wow. That is a massive difference it makes. I saved $166 in cash. Not something to sneeze at either. I can reinvest that sort of money into shares and higher savings account.

Recently, I found out my papa's house has a heritage overlay and under the local council it listed in the residential only zone. What this means is he cannot make major modifications to his property without a permit. Which is a given. However, the heritage overlay states that any redevelopment has to keep the property within character with adjacent properties. Now that is limiting, but oh well, what can do you when live in old historical neighbourhood. With the property situated in residential only zone means that he cannot put up a shop front or turn it into a motel. All this angered my papa to no end. Only property in mixed use zone can be turned in commercial property.

Work wise. It seems people do not like checking online databases for information, they prefer to look at the physical object, but how could they when the object is being used, so why not look at the status or notes? Very odd.

February 2018

It has been a busy month alright. I knocked off very large orders by doing lots of raw scanning then delegating the editing to other staff, or at least staff would scan half way and I would scan and edit the remaining 30 pages to finish of the copy orders. Many of scanning had to done after 5pm. Due to the sear amount of issues back at the bridge that required immediate attention and action.

Chinese New Year.
The family is over it. No one wanted to go to temple or street festival to celebrate it anymore. I did manage to rope mom and dad to attend the one held in Springvale. The Victoria Premier came by for 5 minutes too. the entertainment was wildly good. Too bad dad found them all boring. Mom could not stop giving commentary for each performance. We had free Chobani yougurt and free environmental bags. Dad could not stop staring at the street food and saying they are making money today. O'duh.

White night.
My sister and I went into the city pretty late in the evening. Our first pit stop was Bourke Street, there we watched student fashion parade, and when I told my sister drag queens are performing at Collins Street, she insisted we go there now. Upon arrival we saw several performances on top of Centre Way balcony. Then among the apartment another impromptu performance by another drag queen group. We were so lucky. Then we headed down to Federation square and Alexander garden. The floating water was pretty. The planets was inspiring. My sister love the neon dogs the most. Too bad the smartphone could not capture the neon orange dog poo well. We then trek all the way to Carlton gardens. We ogled at display of art works, watched the projection, and was puzzled by the metal snake on fire. Overall, it was a good effort.

Pokemon Go - Community day.
It was riddled with technical issues. Network error (2) and error (26) plagued the games for three hours straight. Our catch rate fell down to 70%. After having thrown the ball the game would cut out and the pokemon would temporary disappear, then reappears, but you would have to try and catch it again. Sometimes it never shows up again. With the notifications of hundo (100% IV pokemon) I could not resist, but hop between parks in Melbourne. However, all the hundo can only be found in outer suburbs. I did not have access to a car. My family does not wish for a female to learn to drive their brand new cars. Mind you I have been told by a RACV driving instructor that I am a natural and have a knack for communicating with other people outside the car. I did manage to score four shiny Dratini, two 96 % IV Dragonite, and one 98% IV Dragonite. It was both an exhilarating day and a dismal day.

January 2018

It has been a while since I last cut the grass on my front lawn. I watched my mother cut grass with a box cutter and cut weeds with scissors. Wow. This is way too laborious for anyone, let alone someone at her age. So, I went in search of weedkiller for wooden stem weeds and a Ryobi grass cutter. Sadly, she refused to use any of it. Why do people refuse such innovation? I will never know.

I attended my first formal funeral service. It was saddening to come to the realisation my fellow colleague is dead. Yet it was lovely to see many people cherished him. I did find it odd that when you dies, you don't get to choose who gives you an eulogy. The most distant individual from work can be asked to give eulogy, instead of your closest colleagues, who knew you longer than that other individual. That was puzzling for me at least. It seems the family never knew who was Frank's friends at work.

Pokemon Go app has been steady in offering campaigns and legendary raids. Each legendary raid boss came with challenges. The catch rate is always 2%. It is the their stance and animation which changes. It challenges your throw style. I do enjoy the game's puzzles and glitches, no matter how much it frustrates me, I continue to struggle and try to think of ways to be more strategic in my game play. By listening to the community's work around ideas and join in on conversations on Facebook and YouTube. I do feel as if I am part of something bigger.

December 2017

Mom tells me every rubbish in the house is worth a dime. I beg to differ. Anything with mould is a illness waiting to take place.

While my sister enjoys sabotaging her own job interviews. She does not print out her resume ahead of schedule and refuses to wear a suit with black shoes. I tell her. Let your personality and style flare out later, say after probationary period, but not at the beginning of group/individual job interviews. The employer wants to know if you are good fit, not a fun person and what you did on the weekend.

The gutters are blocked, but no one wants to climb up, and and no one wants to hire an outsider to help out. My family insists I use my sick leave or recreation leave to empty it.

I highly recommend home owners to find tradies, businesses, and companies that can repair your house, before you buy your house. Also, learn to build relationships with people who repair your home. Then that way, you do not have to cold calling during your lunch hour like me. My family has three adults who are unemployed, but they rather use their lunch hour watching YouTube then to ring up anyone.
