December 2016

I feel refreshed after the trip and partially tired now. Trying to do multiple things at once is not easy. First off the cab, writing up my first assignment for the summer semester. Second is to organise my goals for 2017. Lastly, try to visit all those fabulous Christmas markets around Victoria. I too, want to enjoy this festive season. A blink of an eye and time has past us all.

November 2016

I forgot about November. Oh, gosh. It has been so hectic and tiring. I did not make a blog post for November.

I have been trying sort out a big matter with my university. Why was I blocked from semester 3 enrollment and blocked from electronic resources. Apparently, the university's graduation system deemed I had sufficient points to graduate, despite I still have two incomplete core units to go, and so, the system un-enrolled me and then proceed to block me from accessing electronic databases. Yeah. I was unable to download electronic articles. It took up two weeks worth of communication to iron it all out. The stress was unwarranted and squandered time that could have been spent doing research.

In the meantime, I have applied for a shared Social Media role with ALIA Student and New Grads group. So far, no news as yet.

Then I had to plan and pack for my one week holiday. My brother took ages to make up his mind, about as to whether to book a rental car or not. When he finally did book one, but it was done so at the very last minute. Whoever thought nagging someone was so exhausting.

Tasmania was gorgeous and there were plenty to see. That is if you like galleries, museum, farms, beaches, and mountains.

October 2016

I'm not usually this makeup obsessed, but with so many grand masters on YouTube teaching people techniques in applying makeup for your skin type, eye type, and many many beauty hacks that can save you so much effort - it is a dream come true. I went off to purchase individual makeup brushes that would suite my small eye lids and small cheeks. 21 brushes in total. Currently, loving the angle brush.

Moreover, I have been learning to do graphic eyeliner techniques, and I must say, no eyeliner is salt water proof and because of that issue, I cannot nail down some of the more tricky techniques. Our very own tears can remove makeup in seconds. The ink and the mechanism for delivery are still so crap. At the same time, I am learning what styles to avoid for my watery left eye. Meaning, I cannot do a full blown cat eye style or Arabian styles without needing constant reapply the makeup (base and all). Tragic, I know.

Thank god for Urban Decay eye primers and setting sprays. They are my "must have" tools for setting the eye shadow and eyeliner. However, MakeUp Forever's Aqua Sealer will is be the best of those two, once I get my hands on it. As well as, two more make up brushes. One for eyeliner and one for blending.

At this point in time, I have no grasp free hand skill in drawing winged eyeliner or draw evenly on both eye lids. So, I use post-it notes to create stencils, which I can then place on my face to create the perfect pattern by patting eye shadow in the empty regions, but I have yet organise one for perfecting the small wing. I keep drawing long wings. lol.

Recently, I learned drug store branded makeup do not sell matte eye shadow, and when you did find one they were either chalky or not pigmented. Now I understand why so many people value Too Faced palettes and Urban Decay palettes. The colours they offer are spectacularly matte or metallic, not glittery, and long lasting. One tap is enough colour for both eye lids. I am still in the process of learning how turn eye shadow in eyeliner with Mac Mixing Medium.

Shimmers are bad for texture skin folks like me. That includes blushes.

Also, concealers occasionally hid imperfections, but lately are used to highlight areas of your face. To truly hide dark spots is to use relevant colour correctors prior to applying foundation and concealer. Peach is the new queen of hiding dark circles.

Off the topic, I have purchased Mecca' Cosmetica's Sunbrella sunscreen SPF50+ and it absolutely goes on smoothly like a dream.

September 2016

It is difficult to put on eyeliner when you have vampire for a room mate. Family members who need to debate with in the early morning. I wish, people would just leave me alone when I'm trying to put on make up. They have no respect for people's personal space. Yet they have enough time to horde junk. Ugh.

People like only things that are consider rare, but in fact is mass produced, perhaps one day it will be rare, but not today. It is not worth killing yourself over it.

August 2016

Trying to motivate people to get things done is a challenge, especially when they have no ambition or consideration for the task at hand. So what was suppose to be distributed at the beginning of August end up at the end of August, and that is just hoping. If I was the manager of these people, they would have been fired for their incompetence and lack of responsibility. In this digital age, quality and speed is a must. Any slower, you are lagging behind your competitor by a mile.

I have been attending a few Pokemon meet ups. The first meet up was at Moonee Pond and the rain come down on us and dampening most of the evening. 20 or so of us got ourselves a Arbok and a Ivysaur that night. The second meet up was unannounced one, we as in 100+ people scattered around the infamous Glen Waverley golf course, and boy, did Charmanders show up. It was definitely a nest alright. The third meet up was at Oakleigh, run by another group, and it had 100+ people attending, despite the heavy rain that took up two hours worth, indeed some rare pokemon such as Kanagaskhan, Seadra, Scyther, and Gloom did come out and we ran like athletes to get them. The fourth meet up was at Sidney Myer Bowl and it had 12 people show up. Interesting, how people prefer the non-official meet ups...
