February 2011

The two weeks were predominately focused on Resident Evil 5 [PS3 console game], we have passed all chapters to chapter 6-3 here we had a dispute over who gets to hold the rocket launcher and who is to inject the Wesker with uroboros overdose. Oh well. We will never know for sure. Now I have moved onto iPhone latest MMORPG called Empire Online. Here I control my own avatar. Yay!

Also did an update overhaul for a few work documents and team wiki. Working on a third edition exercise sheet on how to use the new software for managing orders. Dealing with login, order details, reference enquiries, and so on.

If you like discovering local music then St Kilda festival is best one and it is free. The stalls were pretty good too. If you want get your hands on the goodies from these stalls you have arrive pretty early say 10-11am. Any later and they have packed up or finished handing out stock. I think about 500 people or more showed up that Sunday alone.

In the mean time, at work we are experiencing new kinds of havoc. Overseas server was down and our ordering system went with it. Halted the usual. Work around was manually registering and no choice but to postpone orders. Life was peachy. Cloud system ain't perfect. Oh well.

Started to read up on European countries. Learning Spanish. Experiencing problem in curling my tongue. Also I keep forgetting Js sound sound like Hs. lol.

It seems whenever my boss stressed, she takes it our on the employees (us). Somebody needs to renewal their management and meditation education. Too bad, I ain't no chicken, I argued where is the evidence? If I am to be accused of such action. None. (1) The boss was unwilling to check facts for evidence. Though the customer's telephone number and email is on a shared PC. Mind you, our team does not HIDE SHIT on shared PC and everything is archived annually. (2) The boss decided to argue that I'm making a decree. I laughed out loud. I am not a legal qualified professional. Neither is the boss. Now that has failed to establish a point. (3) The boss goes to say you have a dangerous way of thinking. So what was this whole kerfuffle about again, you might ask? Simple. A customer emailed to say, what's the status of his three orders?
(1) Patron placed the order on Sunday.
(2) My colleague received his email on Wednesday. Total of three days had past.
(3) Our policy is all public orders are by default have 15 business days turn around time, excluding weekends.
(4) My colleague replied to the email and answered his calls on Wednesday. Mind you, I had never read the email. My colleague debrief me on the gist of the call and that's it.
(5) Boss comes back from a meeting and wants to be debrief on everything. Naturally, of course.
(6) In the discussion, my colleague told her story and have happened to mentioned my name. Sure, I sort know about it but I sure as HELL didn't have any communication with the customer.
(7) My colleague also said the patron wanted to change his order but no specifics was ever passed onto me. We were like sure, but the patron should discuss that with the relevant team who is processing it. They need to be aware of such change in the order.
(8) I go to add, I would not allow such changes when work is already BEGUN or is already in the hands of Heritage Collections Team, which is beyond our team's scope and control. I'm sure that HC team leader would like to talk to the patron themselves.
(9) Boss said I'm looking at this case too black and white and dangerously. Change should be instantaneous, the boss said. I disagree, we should exercise fair policy use, all changes need to be reviewed and not be agreed at a drop of a hat. Too much is at stake!
(10) Boss shuts mouth and walks away, then clock off early without goodbye to anyone. Ha!
Note: Same week a Russian patron called all the way from Russia, to ask who made the changes and how come no one emailed him back. Ugh. Haste is always bad.
